La Crosse, WIS. (WXOW) ------- Whether it's skips, stones, or sweeps, you can definitely say Curling is not your average sport.
"It's my life, sometimes on my phone I have autocorrect and I'll try to say that I love curling and it says I live Curling and I'm like well I'll just leave that," says UW-L Sophomore Hannah Johnson.
"Most people are interested in this sport, they find it particular and different and interesting and when they come out to try it and when they come out and try it they have a lot more fun then they expected they would," says Onalaska native Toni Paisley.
Johnson and Paisley are teammates on an under-21 team trying to qualify for the USA Curling Junior National Championships. 20 teams qualify for the championship, 10 on the boys side and 10 on the girls, the Wisconsin regional or "play-down" like it's called in the sport is held in Portage, WIS. on December 27th.
"I really want to make it to Nationals and we have a really good shot last year my team finished second and the team that finished first is already qualified as a high performance team," said Johnson.
