LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Police are looking for the person who phoned in a bomb threat to Hydrite Chemical Wednesday morning.
Tia Davis, Operations Manager at Hydrite, said a call came in around 9:30 a.m. from a man who said there was a bomb in the building.
Hydrite, which makes and distributes industrial chemicals, has procedures in place for such threats. They immediately got in touch with police.
Both La Crosse Police and the fire department arrived at the business at 701 Sumner St. and searched the building and outside area. The hour-long search didn't turn up any bomb.
A police spokesperson said the person who called in the threat was a man who had a foreign accent and was mumbling as he spoke.
Police ask that if anyone has information on the threat to contact them at 608-785-5962.
