Update: Holmen proposing referendum on fluoride treatment

Posted:

Holmen, WISCONSIN (WXOW) - The Village of Holmen is considering two options with the towns fluoride treatment program.  Currently the village is treating their water with fluoride.

The first option is to allow voters to decided on the April ballot if the village should continue fluoride treatment.

Another option is to continue the treatment and not ask for the public's input.

The two resolutions will be forwarded to the Village of Holmen.  Both are expected to be discussed at their meeting on Thursday, Dec. 12.

Holmen, WISCONSIN (WXOW) - The Village of Holmen will decide Thursday if voters should get a say in continuing its fluoride treatment program.

Currently the village is treating their water with fluoride, but they want to ask the public if they should continue.

Thursday night, the Public Works Committee will vote on whether or not to add a question on the April ballot asking voters if the village should continue fluoridation.

If the committee passes the referendum question, it will then need to be approved by the Village of Holmen Board.

Thursdays meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at the Village Hall.
