Don't Trash the Stache

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Mustaches filled Howie's bar in La Crosse Monday night with the second annual Stache Bash. Don't Trash the Stache was this year's title as La Crosse Fire Fighters teamed up with the American Cancer Society to raise awareness. Fire Fighters grew mustaches in November and tonight they showed them off in a competition with categories like Most Distinguished, Most disturbing, and Best Try. Mayor Kabat even showed up as a mystery judge.
Lori Francis, Specialist for Community Events for the American Cancer Society said, "I think it really gives them an outlet to do something that's really fun and get together and have the comradery of the competition, but that they're really tying it to a cause and really getting that awareness out there."
The fire fighters hoped to beat last year's total of 2400 dollars.
