COPY-UPDATE: Brian Stowe convicted of more than two dozen sex crimes

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison man who preyed on co-workers and friends when the women went to sleep or passed out after drinking was convicted of twenty-seven sex crimes Tuesday as part of a plea agreement.

29-year old Brian Stowe entered guilty pleas to each individual charge in Dane County court, as several of his victims sat in the courtroom gallery and listened.

Stowe's attorney, Dennis Coffey said Stowe's pleas were entered voluntarily and knowingly.

Stowe was charged last year with a staggering sixty-two felony crimes. Most of the crimes were sexual assault, or capturing an image of nudity, without consent.

While more than thirty charges were dropped, assistant Dane County district attorney Corey Stephan said the plea agreement involved no concession from prosecutors they would limit the number of prison years they would recommend at Stowe's sentencing. The twenty-seven convictions involve a maximum, possible sentence that would extend beyond Stowe's lifetime.

Authorities arrested the high-tech worker last year, after Stowe victimized a teenager he shared a bar time cab ride with.

Between 2009 and 2012, Stowe victimized primarily co-workers, carrying out sexual assaults of the unaware women, and videotaping victims in partially nude poses. Most of his victims only learned what had happened to them, after the teen victim went to police. She awoke during portions of Stowe's crimes against her.

Stowe's actions against the teenager also led to a conviction for a federal crime, with sentencing in January. Stowe's sentencing for the more than two dozen state crimes will take place after that.

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison man accused in a serial sexual assault case is scheduled to enter a plea Tuesday.

Brian Stowe faces 62 felony charges in Dane Co. after police say he drugged, sexually assaulted and took graphic photos of more than half a dozen women who were passed out. Stowe worked with most of the women.
