UW-L chosen to host two more NCAA Championships


La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW)  UW-La Crosse has chosen by the NCAA to host the Division III Wrestling Championships in 2017 and the Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2018.

It will mark the 3rd time the school has hosted the wrestling championships and the 4th time it will host the track championships.

"We are pleased to continue using these high-profile national events to highlight all that La Crosse has to offer," said Kim Blum, Deputy Director of Athletics in a news release from the school.

"The national wrestling tournament generates more than $500,000 for the local economy, and the outdoor track and field championships bring more than a $1 million to the community.  We appreciate how our community has embraced these wonderful opportunities to showcase the Coulee Region."
