FRENCH ISLAND, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- The Xcel Energy facility at 200 Bainbridge St. sustained minor smoke, fire and water damage in a Friday night fire.
Firefighters said they were called to the building at 10:14 p.m.
When they arrived they found a garbage hopper, which is used to hold debris before it gets incinerated, on fire.
In total, 16 firefighters were called to the scene and remained there for roughly two hours. In a news release, the La Crosse fire department said its personnel "quickly extinguished" the fire.
No one was injured.
