LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – The La Crosse Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron, an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, honored fallen veterans Saturday.
The cadets placed more than 150 wreaths at Woodlawn Cemetery and held an honor service for the veterans.
It's part of Wreaths Across America. This is the second year the squadron participated.
"To keep that freedom that we want, somebody has to make a sacrifice for it. And those who do deserve our utmost respect. So for me, it's an indescribable feeling of honor that I'm able to honor them," said Cadet Capt. Michael Cunningham.
The La Crosse community and corporate donors donated the wreaths.
Overall, the squadron raised more than $3,000 to honor veterans this year.
