LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – It was a brisk day to take a walk in Myrick Park Saturday. But every person who took part in the Santa Stroll helped raise money for the Salvation Army.
Four Western Technical College students organized the mile-long walk for a project management class.
They supplied warm drinks, music and Santa even made an appearance.
Organizers hoped to raise $500 for the Salvation Army that would go toward shelter and clothing for people in need.
"During the holiday season, families they need help, they need warmth, they need shelter, they need food and clothing and this is a great opportunity to give back to them," said Bethany Wemette, an event organizer.
The students are graded on the overall success of the walk.
