Neala Frye’s family presented Extraordinary Degree at UW-L graduation

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Students put on their caps and gowns Sunday for the UW-L Winter Commencement.

About 700 undergraduates received their diplomas in front of family and friends at the La Crosse Center.

They're students from the College of Business Administration, College of Liberal Studies, and College of Science and Health.

Faculty presented the Extraordinary Degree to the family of Neala Frye.

Frye, 23, was a UW-L student who died about 10 months ago of hypothermia combined with alcohol intoxication.

Frye was studying marketing at UW-L and was the director of advertising for the American Marketing Association.

A scholarship has been set up in her honor. It will go to a UW-L junior or senior pursuing a marketing degree.
