LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- The Aquinas High School robotics team is prepping for a new season.
On January 4, 2014, a set of guidelines from the national organization FIRST will be issued to robotics teams around the world.
FIRST seeks to promote science and technology among young adults.
Aquinas boasts a 26 member team that will be building a robot meant to achieve the tasks called for in the FIRST guidelines.
Last year's competition required robots to climb a pyramid and shoot Frisbees.
The school's team will have six weeks to build their bot.
Upon completion, the robot will be entered into a competition in Duluth, Minnesota.
This is the third year Aquinas has participated has participated in the contest.
