Madison, WISCONSIN (WXOW) The Badgers will bid farewell to one of the most successful senior classes in school history on January first.
But a sophomore will hold the key to their hopes of sending out that senior class in style.
Sophomore quarterback Joel Stave had another up-and-down season.
He threw 20 touchdowns and but had 12 interceptions.
Stave has started every game this season but that doesn't mean he's guaranteed the starter's role next season.
Expect another quarterback competition.
"It will be wide open. It always is and I like to say that when we walk back here in spring or the 20th of January, whenever these kids walk back into school. It will be open, and it needs to be because you've got to create competition. The league's going to be wide open too and everything we do is going to be wide open as we move forward," said Badgers head coach Gary Andersen.
