Sparta police investigating two robberies

SPARTA, Wisconsin (WXOW) Sparta police are investigating two burglaries that took place on December 27th.

The first occurred around 7p.m. on the 800 block of Charles Drive. A male suspect stole cash from a woman going door to door selling items for a charity fundraiser. The suspect is described as a white male, possibly in his twenties, between 5'3'' and 5'4'', weighing between 140-150 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black jacket, black or dark colored jeans, and a black ski mask.

The second robbery took place at 9:30p.m. at Casey's General Store on Black River Street. The lone male suspect entered the store and demanded the clerk give him money. The suspect claimed to have a gun, but never showed one. The suspect fled on foot with some cash. The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties, between 5'6'' and 5'8''. He was wearing a camouflage coat with a hood, black ski mask, green shirt, blue jeans, and red gloves. The suspect is pictured in surveillance photos below.
