La Crosse Police remind people to stay safe New Year's Eve

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The La Crosse Police Department will have extra officers patrolling Tuesday night.

Officers have some reminders, including not getting separated from your friends.

"We just want to remind people to go out, have a fun time, but we want you to be safe.  So just make sure you don't drink and drive and you know just have a designated driver for your group," says Lt. Pat Hogan of the La Crosse Police Department.

Police say if you don't have a designated driver, use the safe ride programs offered by the local taverns or use the taxi or bus services.
