WINONA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- A high-speed chase in Winona leads to two arrests.
Winona Police Chief Paul Bostrack said an officer tried to make a traffic stop at East Fifth Street and Mankato Avenue at about 8:45 p.m. Monday. The vehicle kept going until it crashed off Pheasant Ridge Road.
Winona County Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said the passenger fled on foot. Deputies followed tracks in the snow and found Jack David Taylor, 28, of Winona, behind Signature's Restaurant. Ganrude said Taylor was uncooperative with deputies and allegedly kicked a Houston County deputy. Taylor was eventually taken into custody. He's facing charges including fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, tampering with a motor vehicle, and obstruction.
Officers also arrested the driver, Dennis Lee Sharpe, 21, of Winona, who was cited with fleeing a police officer and driving with a revoked license.
