La Crescent couple loses home to fire


La Crescent, Minnesota (WXOW) – A La Crescent family is without a home following a house fire Tuesday night.

The Hokah Fire Department said they were called to a house fire at 7474 County Highway 21, around 8 p.m.

When they arrived, the home was fully involved in flames. Houston and La Crescent Fire Departments were called in to assist. Along with the Houston Sheriff's Department and La Crescent Police Department. It took fire crews close to six hours to extinguish the flames.

Officials said the couple was not home at the time of the fire. The home is a total loss.

The Hokah Fire Department said the cause of the fire is unknown and can not be determined because of the extent of the damage.
