Local Organizations Encouraging Outdoor Activities

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)  Two local organizations are working together, encouraging you to spend some time outside.

Mayo Clinic Health System is sponsoring the Mississippi Valley Conservancy's hiking series called Linked to the Land.  The Conservancy is a non-profit land trust designed to conserve land in southwestern Wisconsin.

The Linked to the Land hikes begin January 25th.  They run through December 30th.  Below is the list of dates.  For more information and to sign up, you can go to www.mississippivalleyconservancy.org.

January 25, Snowshoe Hike, La Crosse River Conservancy.

February 15, Valentine Snowshoe Hike, Kickapoo Bottoms, Crawford County.

February 28, Leopold Weekend Events, EcoPark, 7:00 PM.

March 1, 9:00 am, family events at the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife Refuge.

April 27, Earth Fair Hike, Miller Bluff.

May 10, Mother's Day Bird Identification, Sugar Creek Bluff, Crawford County, 8-10 am.

May 17, Birds & Brunch at Boscobel Bluffs.

June 15, Father's Day Hike, Seldom Seen Farm, Gays Mills.

July 26, River Bluff Day's Hike, Sugar Creek Bluff, Ferryville.

August 16, Prairie Flower Hike, Holland Sand Prairie, Town of Holland.

September 13, FSPA Stargazing Hike, St. Joseph Ridge.

October 11, Family Fall Hike, MacGregor property, Grant County.

November 8, Tree Identification Hike, Angel Bluff, Buffalo County.

December 30, Holiday Break Hike, Mathy Quarry.
