LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)—Tuesday, the Committee of the Whole will consider a change in the number of dogs and cats allowed per household.
The new proposal would limit that number to four total. Mayor Tim Kabat says he's comfortable with that number. He says the existing ordinance is not exactly clear; it can be interpreted as limiting to four total or four dogs and four cats.
"The ordinance itself needs some clarification because there's some vague definitions as to how many, whether it's four or eight, there's a bit of a discrepancy so we do need to address that," Mayor Tim Kabat said.
If approved Tuesday, it would still need full council approval Thursday, and anyone who already has more than four pets would not have to get rid of any.
