LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) The Mississippi Valley Conservancy is receiving some financial help from a local group.
The Crawford County Community Fund is providing a $400 grant. They say it recognizes the MVC's work supporting eco-tourism.
The MVC executive director says the grant supports work on the 84-acre Kickapoo Bottoms Preserve. With the help of a grant from the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program, the MVC purchased that property in 2011.
Since forming in 1997, the Conservancy has permanently protected almost 16,000 acres of land in southwestern Wisconsin.
