Eagles sharp-shooting shoots down Yellowjackets

La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW)  The UW-La Crosse Men's basketball team received balanced scoring on their way to a 79-51 win over UW-Superior Wednesday night at Mitchell Hall.

It's the 7th straight win for the Eagles over the Yellowjackets.

UW-L hit 10 three's in the first half, including 9 in a row at one point in building a 45-22 lead.

Trent Schmidt had 15 points to lead the Eagles, but he was the only one in double figures even though they scored 79 points.

"Every win in our league is important so this is a good outing for our guys. I really liked the way we played tonight. We played with a lot of energy. We really rotated well defensively and got some pretty good looks on the offensive end. We shot it well and that really helps," said head coach Ken Koelbl.

The Eagles improved to 4-1 in the WIAC and 10-4 overall.
