Funerals planned for victims of SUV that plunged into the river in Winona

WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) -- Friday marks the first funeral for the victims of an SUV that plunged into the Mississippi River in Winona last weekend.

Matthew Erickson was buried Friday morning at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro. He and Christina Lee Hauser were found dead inside the SUV on Sunday.

One day later crews recovered the body of Blake Overland. His funeral is this Saturday, also at Bethlehem Lutheran.

Friday also marks the sixth day in the search for the final victim, Andrew Kingsbury.

Officials from Mason City, Iowa and cadaver dogs from three different cities joined the search Thursday. Winona County Sheriff David Brand says they soon need to make a tough choice on continuing the search.

"(We'll) probably continue throughout the week. Friday and Saturday for sure. And then we'll have to evaluate how much we've covered and how well we've covered it," Brand said.

At last check, a funeral date has not been set for the third victim, Hauser, but we're told a funeral home has been chosen to plan that service.
