Tomah, WI (WXOW) - Monroe County officials said a man who accidentally shot himself could face charges.
Dispatch said they received a 911 call from a male shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday. The man stated he had been shot and then he hung up.
Police determined that the call was made in the 400 block of N. Glendale Ave. Officials drove to that location, but no one was home
The caller was identified as Lucas Stewart. Police said Stewart drove himself to a local hospital and then was transferred by medical helicopter to La Crosse, with a gun shot wound.
Gundersen Health System told News 19 Monday morning, that Stewart was in critical but stable condition.
Officials said Stewart is prohibited from possessing firearms. The case has been sent to the Monroe County District Attorney's office for possible charges.
