Hit and run in Winona leaves two students hospitalized


WINONA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Two college students are hospitalized Sunday evening after a hit and run accident in Winona.

According to the Winona County Sheriff's Department, 2 people were hit by a car at the intersection of Broadway and Washington just after 10 p.m. Saturday night.

One of the victims was airlifted to Mayo Clinic in critical condition, but the status of the other victim is unknown.

The road was closed down for much of Saturday evening and some of Sunday morning.

The accident is being treated as a hit and run. Winona Police do not have any suspects.
