Gov. Walker issues State of Emergency over propane shortage

Posted:
As more extreme cold hits central Wisconsin, propane to heat homes is in high demand.

Governor Scott Walker declared a State of Emergency on Saturday in response to the propane shortage.

This calls for all state agencies to be on alert and to assist as needed.

The short supply in throughout the midwest has caused delivery delays and reduced the amount of propane some customers can get.

Officials say an unusually cold winter is a major reason for the high demand. They also say the closure of a major pipeline and a high demand for propane to dry grain added to the issue.
