ONALASKA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The numbers are in for the Great Rivers United Way 2013 campaign.
They reached their $2,055,000 goal. As of Wednesday, they raised $2,056,736. The campaign started last summer. The donations from the campaign benefit a variety of community programs in Houston, La Crosse, Monroe, Trempealeau and Vernon counties.
"What's remarkable about that is only two weeks ago we sat in the same room with you folks and we were $136,000 short and thanks to the out-pouring support from the community and 4 local United Way supporters who put together a $40,000 matching grant, we've now reached that goal and now exceeded it so its truly a celebration today," says campaign co-chair John Lyche.
The campaign isn't over yet. It runs through Friday.
