Flesch enters race for 96th Assembly seat

La Crosse, WI (WXOW) The first democratic candidate for the 96th Assembly district has officially entered the race.

Pete Flesch is a lifelong resident of Soldiers Grove. The retired dairy farmer ran his family's farm for 20 years. Flesch entered politics in 1999 by serving on his town board. Since then he's served as town chairman, county board member, and chairman of the Crawford county board.

Flesch says he understands what needs to be done in Madison to best benefit his neighbors.

The 96th district is currently represented by republican Lee Nerison. Nerison has not said whether he will run for re-election.
