St. Paul, MN (WXOW) - A teacher at Caledonia Middle School is among the candidates for Minnesota Teacher of the Year.
Janelle Field Rohrer is a 6-8 grade teacher in Caledonia. She is one of 128 teachers from the state who are eligible for the honor.
Also among the list of candidates are Penny Garity, Dover Eyota and Lora Hill, Winona.
The 2014 Minnesota Teacher of the Year will be announced Sunday, May 4, in Bloomington, MN. Over the coming weeks, a 25-member panel of community leaders will name a group of semifinalists and finalists.
The award acknowledges outstanding teachers in Minnesota. Candidates include pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade teachers, from public or private schools.
