Winona, MN (WXOW) - The proposed
improvements for the Winona Bridge Project will have no significant
impact to the human or natural environment.
Federal Highway Administration issued the findings Thursday, Jan. 30, using information described in the
Environmental Assessment and the Findings of Fact and Conclusion
The FONSI is based upon the EA, which was independently evaluated by the FHWA and determined to adequately discuss the need, environmental issues, and impacts of the proposed project and appropriate mitigation measures.
"This is important for MnDOT and our local project partners as it authorizes final design and construction of the new bridge along with preservation of the existing bridge to move forward, allowing the recommended project scope to become a reality." said MnDOT District 6 Engineer Jeff Vlaminck.
