WINONA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- A third candidate announces he's running for Winona County Sheriff.
Kraig Glover joins sheriff's investigator Rob Averbeck and Deputy Bill Spitzer in the race.
Glover has 26 years of law enforcement experience, including 14 with the Winona County Sheriff's Office.
He has also worked with the Southeastern Minnesota Narcotics Gang Strike Task Force and the St. Charles Police Department.
Averbeck and Spitzer announced their candidacies earlier this month.
Averbeck has spent more than 20 years with the Winona and Dane County Sheriff offices. Over the past 10 years he has served as an investigator with the Winona County Sheriff's Office.
Spitzer has been the mayor of St. Charles for a decade but he has spent 30 years in law enforcement. He worked at the Olmsted County Detention Center in 1983, served in the St. Charles Police Department, and is in his 24th year as a deputy sheriff for Winona County.
Spitzer also recently announced he will not seek a 6th term as mayor.
Three candidates in the race will force a primary election in the summer.
