LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – During a cold winter, many choose to stay inside and keep warm.
But Saturday, families grabbed their skis and took to the slopes at Mt. La Crosse for the YMCA Family Ski Day.
More than 100 members from the La Crosse and Onalaska Y's participated.
Many took in ski lessons and all went down the runs at a discounted price.
Organizers said it's a way for families to stay active this winter.
"Family is important to the Y and (it's about) being able to enjoy each other's company while being active together and healthy," said Beth O'Bryan, family coordinator for the YMCA-La Crosse.
Families could even have lunch together at the ski hill. All lift tickets today included a free hot dog meal.
