Logging equipment goes up in flames in Jackson County


BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WXOW) - Logging equipment goes up in flames near Black River Falls Wednesday afternoon.

The Black River Falls Fire Departmentwas called out shortly after 4:00 p.m. for a fire in equipment used for logging in the township of Millston.

When firefighters arrived, the machinery was heavily engulfed in fire. Crews put the fire out quickly.

The worker who was using the equipment said they had just finished for the day when smoke was seen coming from the engine area. The operator had attempted toput the fire out with fire extinguishers.

The equipment, owned by Todd's Tree and Shrub Service of Warrens, was a severely damaged by the fire.

No injuries were reported according to Fire Chief Steve Schreiber.
