La Crosse woman ticketed for striking child with car

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – A La Crosse woman is ticketed after she struck a child with her car Tuesday morning.

According to the La Crosse Police Department, the child was crossing the street shortly after 11:00 a.m.

Police said the woman was traveling north bound on Losey Blvd. Officers said when the light turned green, she turned onto Main St. and struck the child who was in the crosswalk.

The child had the right of way according to police.

The driver was ticketed for failure to yield for a pedestrian in the cross walk.

Police said the child is in the hospital, but they do not know her condition.
