LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - A Madison man pleaded guilty Thursday to first degree reckless homicide in a La Crosse County fatal drug overdose.
Prosecutors say 28-year-old Malachi Hankel provided heroin to 48-year-old Thomas Tremain back in September.
Tremain later died of an overdose in the Town of Barre.
According to court records, Hankel admitted he sold Tremain heroin when they met in Madison.
Hankel faces a maximum of 40 years in prison at his sentencing on April 1st.
