Heavy equipment along Ward Avenue during repair of the water main break
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - UPDATE: The water main break on Ward Avenue is fixed according to the city.
Crews were able to repair the break Friday morning. Mark Johnson of the city's Utility Office said the main is back in service. They're now refilling the hole so the east bound lane of the street can re-open.
The east bound lanes between 21st Street and Losey Boulevard were closed Friday morning to allow heavy equipment to break through the dirt and frost to get to the broken main.
