LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - La Crosse area postal workers spent their day off Monday at Pla-Mor Lanes bowling for a good cause.
The 6th Annual "Bowl for Kids" event was organized by the La Crosse Area Postal Credit Union. All proceeds from the event benefit the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Zoey Lollar was the host child for the event and got to roll out the first ball to kick off the bowl-a-thon.
President and CEO of the La Crosse Area Postal Credit Union, Sue Jacobson says its a great way for their employees to give back on their day off.
"As a credit union, our philosophy is people helping people and we saw a need in the community and the postal employees are always so generous and willing to help. They have a day off and we thought this would be a great time to raise some money for a needy cause," says Jacobson.
Sue also says she hopes this event will put them over the $20,000 donation mark for CMN Hospitals and look forward to doing it again next year.
