La Crosse, Wis. (WXOW) ---- With each inch of snow brings the potential for dangerous conditions but for others it means opportunity for making a profit.
To Dave Breyer that profit comes the many things he sells including snow blowers. "We call them insurance policies. If it doesn't snow, hey it's probably worth it for you. If it does well then you have one already. Great."
Breyer admits he's not a winter fan but knows it's good for business. "I can't wait for it to be spring."
Winter enthusiasts are enjoying the extra powder at Mt. La Crosse. "Even though everyone knows its winter all this fresh snow just reminds them that hey - maybe we'll go out and play in it for while." Darcie Breidel says the timing of the snow couldn't have been better. It refreshed the courses for the ski meet and revived a business that had a rough couple of years. "We're definitely in a better place this year already but we have a lot to make up for because in a three month operation and you have two bad years it's really tough to gain ground back."
Mt. La Crosse opened Thanksgiving weekend this season that's the first time in 10 years.
No official date as to when they will close.
