LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Festival Foods has purchased a new shopping cart, for all its stores, to help make grocery shopping easier for families who have a child with special needs.
This past week, a Caroline's Cart arrived at each of Festival Foods 19 stores. It is a shopping cart specifically designed to provide parents and caregivers with a viable option to transport a child with special needs throughout the store while grocery shopping.
The idea to have these carts came to Festival Foods by special request from a customer at the Holmen, WI store. The request asked Festival Foods to purchase these carts and have them available for guests who have a child with special needs. Festival Foods made the decision to invest in a few of these carts and test them out in select stores. Shortly after they made their appearance, there was demand for these carts at all Festival Foods store locations.
Currently, Festival Foods is only the second retailer in America to roll Caroline's Cart out to all of their stores. The only other retailer to do so is a grocery chain in South Bend, Indiana, with 22 stores. There are hundreds of retailers that are using Caroline's Carts, but most are ordering them as requested by customers, rather than ordering them for all stores.
