La Crosse Police investigate copper thefts


LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – TheLa Crosse Police Department is investigating the theft of copper pipefittings from a job site construction trailer.

Thetrailer was parked at the new NorthSide Elementary School underconstruction at 1611 Kane Street.

Policesaid someone broke into the trailer, between Saturday night andSunday morning, and stole about $5,000 worth of copper pipe fittings.

Thefittings are between 1/2" -3" in size and were mainly "T or 90degree" style copper fittings. Most of the fittings have the namebrand of "NIBCO".
