ROCHESTER, Minn. (WXOW) - The Minnesota Department of Transportation is advising the public to not travel in Southeastern Minnesota due to the weather.

MnDOT reports that roads in this corner of the state are listed as Difficult due to the mix of freezing rain, sleet, ice, and blowing snow.

The advisory is for 11 counties including Houston, Winona, and Fillmore.

Numerous accidents are occuring in the advisory area according to MnDOT.

Interstate and state highways are open for now, but MnDOT continue to look at the weather conditions to see if any closures are necessary.
