Brewers' Weeks Looks To Rebound In 2014

Posted:

PHOENIX (WXOW)-------- No current player his been with the club longer than Rickie Weeks but outside of Ryan Braun no player this spring will be more scrutinized than the Brewers long time second basemen.

Weeks will battle Scotter Gennett for the starting job at 2B this year and he is coming off surgery from a torn hamstring which cost him a good deal of time last summer.

"You have to have that positive mentally knowing your going to be back when I went down I knew I was coming back so that's all that mattered sometimes you just have to go out there and prove yourself sometimes and just go out there and play baseball so I can't worry about to much other than myself right now so that's good, I am getting older in baseball years I guess but at the same time I still feel young and I am just grateful right now," said Weeks.

The Brewers open up Cactus League play on February 27th.
