Students learn about the human body using real organs

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Students at Lincoln Middle School Monday learned about the human body through an exhibit sponsored by Gundersen Health System.

Daniel Schraith, MD, a pathologist and laboratory director at Gundersen Health System, showed 7th graders a variety of human tissues including a cancerous intestine.

Students learned how the cancer invades the intestine by going through the tissue wall. Students were also able to feel and explore a human kidney and lung.
