LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) As we reported Amy DuPont and photographer Mark Bronson are traveling with a team of Gundersen Healthcare workers to Ethiopia.

The group is providing free care at a children's home in the village of Yetebon. Roughly 1,700 students live at "Project Mercy". The Gundersen team will provide medical care to its students for roughly two weeks.

This is the first time the team has traveled to Ethiopia. Project Mercy's founder, Marta Gabre Psadick, says this new partnership will change lives. "Oh yes, that's the whole intention; change lives, change their situation, make sure that they get out of poverty."

You can follow the team's journey through a blog by clicking here.

WXOW.com will also have coverage of the team's trip on our website in the near future.

Be sure to tune into our special report "Project Mercy" on Saturday, May 3rd immediately following the 6pm Report.
