Junior Achievement adds two new members

LA CROSSE, Wis.. (WXOW). Steven Koenen and Dan Schmitz have joined the Junior Achievement Board of Directors in the Coulee Region.

Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices.

Steve Koenen is one of the new members to join Junior Achievement. Koenen is currently Senior Vice-President of Retail Operations at Altra Federal Credit Union. He also serves as President of the Cashton Alumni Association and among many accomplishments has also completed a 3 year term in the prestigious Filene Research Institution's i3 project.

"I have seen firsthand the impact that poor financial choices can have on young people’s lives. I am excited about the opportunity to be part of Junior Achievement and to continue to work on educational initiatives that will give young people a solid foundation for future financial success," Koenen stated.

Dan Schmitz also joined the Junior Achievement Board of Directors. Schmitz serves as Chief Operating Officer of Northern Engraving Corporation. Along with many other positions, he is an advisory board member for the University of Wisconsin-Stout Manufacturing Outreach Center. Schmitz stated he is passionate about the education of youth in our community.
