LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW)- Healthgrades announced Gundersen Health System is among America's 50 Best Hospital and with that they placed in top 1 percent in the nation.

Marilu Bintz, MD, MBA, medical vice president stated, "This award represents many years of continued quality excellence and patient care for Gundersen. So, while we are pleased Gundersen has been named one of America's 50 Best Hospitals, we are more proud of what this distinction means for our patients, families and the communities we serve. It means patients can feel confident that they will receive the highest quality care when they visit Gundersen."

Healthgrades evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide. They recognize hospitals for consistent clinical excellence by identifying those that received a Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence for the most consecutive years.

Earlier this year, Gundersen received the 2014 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence. It was the seventh consecutive year the organization received the award. “Gundersen works to improve quality at every level of patient care. It is because of the hard work of our clinicians and staff that our patients receive care that is consistently among the best in the nation and our region,” Dr. Bintz says.
