LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) UW-La Crosse led from start to finish and eliminated UW-Oshkosh 76-61 in a first round WIAC Tournament game.
Calahan Skogman led the way with 23 points but it was the Eagles rebounding dominance that paved the way.
UW-L out rebounded the Titans 43-24.
Lucas Collom set at WIAC Tournament record with 19 rebounds.
The Eagles led 36-23 at the half.
Oshkosh went on an 11-0 run early in the second half before the Eagles regained control with a 13-2 run of their own.
Skylar Cameron had 14 points off the bench.
"This is a very big win. We played Oshkosh twice over the season and beat them twice. It's never easy beating a team a third time, especially in this conference. This is one of the toughest conferences to play in. Oshkosh played a heck of a game and it's hats off to them," Collom said.
"Collom had a great game rebounding and defensive-wise and just was a presence down low. Skylar Cameron came in and was big for us. He knocked down some big threes. We played with great emotion tonight and that's important this time of year," said UW-L Head Coach Ken Koelbl.
The Eagles will now travel to Whitewater Friday to play the 2nd seeded Warhawks.
