Eagles upset bid comes up short at Whitewater


WHITEWATER, Wisconsin (WXOW)  UW-La Crosse put up a strong effort but they were unable to knock off the 2nd ranked team in the nation.

They lost at UW-Whitewater 76-73 in the semifinals of the WIAC Tournament.

The Eagles led by one at the half before Whitewater went on a run to take a 9-point lead.

UW-L pulled to within one with 2:33 to go.

But the Warhawks made the big plays down the stretch to eliminate the Eagles.

Calahan Skogman led UW-l with 28 points and 9 rebounds.

Jared Staege chipped in 12 points.

The Eagles season ends at 17-10.
