Vernon County Sheriff's Dept. looking for vandals

VIROQUA, Wis. (WXOW) – The Vernon County Sheriff's department is asking for the public's help in finding the person or persons responsible for damaging several mailboxes throughout the county.

A Sheriff's Department statement said that during the evening hours of Tuesday, Feb. 25 or early morning hours of Wednesday, Feb. 26, several mailboxes were smashed in the rural areas of Stoddard, Genoa and De Soto. Officials said a possible baseball bat was used to damage the mailboxes.

On Elm Drive in Stoddard, the Sheriff's department said a vehicle had its tires slashed.

Anyone with information on these crimes, call the Sheriff's department at 608-637-8477 or 800-657-6868. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 and will remain completely anonymous.
