Onalaska High School students spray paint home

ONALASKA, Wis. (WXOW)- Some positive thoughts were painted on an Onalaska home Tuesday morning to balance some negative memories.

Onalaska hockey players showed up at the Tomashek home, and, with the owners consent, painted names, numbers and words of encouragement to support the team's qualification to state.

The Tomashek home caught fire in the early morning hours of January 4th.  The family escaped safely but their home is a total loss.

The family allowed students to paint their home because he wanted to provide some good memories before the house is demolished.  The Tomasheks plan to rebuild on the site.

The boys hockey team goes to the state tournament in Madison tournament.  They play their first game against Kettle Moraine on Thursday.
