No surprises in 1st round of WIAA Girls Regionals


LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW)  Everything went according to the seedings for the most part for La Crosse area teams in the first round of the WIAA Girls Regionals.

In Division 2, Logan led Sparta by 20 in the third quarter and ended up winning 46-35 behind Alexis Stika's 19 points.

The Rangers will travel to Central Friday.

Holmen had an easy time of it by beating Tomah 48-29.

The Vikings travel to Onalaska, the 3rd ranked team in the state, on Friday.

Other local teams advancing included West Salem, G-E-T, Whitehall and Blair-Taylor.

Most of the top-seeded teams received first round byes.
