Madison (WXOW) -- Mother Nature may strongly disagree, but according to the Wisconsin football team -- spring has sprung.
The Badgers hit the turf inside the McClain Center for the first spring practice of the season. The team will hold fifteen workouts in all.
Quarterback Joel Stave will be limited this spring with a shoulder injury. He'll need to be looking over that shoulder, as three quarterbacks are competing to take his starting job. That includes Tanner McEvoy, who shifted from safety back to quarterback for spring camp.
"You talk about command and presence. like I said, it didn't always go his way, but he moved on to the next step, made some nice throws, did some things with his feet. It was good to see," says head coach Gary Andersen.
